Two blokes, a ute, and a lot of Geelong fences

Homestead Gates and Fencing started in Belmont in 1985 and has been fencing Geelong properties for over forty years. Andrew and Dave took it on more than twenty years ago and have run it ever since, and between them they have put up more fences around Geelong than either of them could count.

It has stayed a family business on purpose. When you ring the number on this site, one of them answers it. When someone comes out to quote your job, it is one of them. And when the fence goes in, they are the ones building it. Nothing gets handed to a subcontractor you have never met.

“We are not the biggest fencing outfit in town and we have never tried to be.”

What that means in practice is fairly simple. We turn up when we say we will. We measure properly rather than guessing. We pull the old fence out and take it with us. And if we think you do not need a whole new fence, we will say so, even though it is a smaller job for us.

Most of our work still comes from people who have seen one of our fences down the street, or had one built years ago and rung us back. That has been enough to keep us going for four decades, so we have never seen much reason to change how we do it.
